Gregorio Botta
Disgelo
February 27th – April 24th 2025
Atipografia presents Disgelo, a solo exhibition by Gregorio Botta (Naples, 1953), open to the public from Thursday 27 February to Thursday 24 April 2025 in the gallery's spaces in Arzignano, in the province of Vicenza, an old family print shop that founder and director Elena Dal Molin has transformed into an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art.
The exhibition, curated by Elena dal Molin, presents a nucleus of works, almost all of which are new and created especially for the occasion. The fil rouge that unites them is closely linked to the practice of the essential. Botta works on the act of removing, on absence, on lightness and simplicity of form. His works are delicate and imbued with poetry, at the same time encapsulating the strength of the elements (air, water, earth) and materials (wax, alabaster, iron), but also of what is found in nature, such as leaves. The exhibition thus touches on some of the themes very dear to the gallery's research: silence, slowness, the intimacy created between the visitor and the work of art presented.
Disgelo follows Gregorio Botta's solo exhibition at the Fondazione Volume! in Rome, closed in December 2024, and anticipates the next exhibition at the MAN Museum in Nuoro, opening on 21 March.
